you could head out to Tirtagangga water palace / gardens stopping along the way at Padang Bai, Goa Lawah (bat cave) temple and "white sandy beach", the markets at Amlapura.
You could also do a trip to the Butterfly Park, the Marga Rana Memorial, the Beringkit Markets and Tabanan city. You could also stop for dinner at Echo Beach on the way back.
The Organic Farm Farm Bali also has day trips which I think look really interesting. Hoping to try either the Rice Field or Volcano trek when we go in Dec/Jan.
A visit to Uluwatu and then onto to Balangan beach for lunch is another pleasant day trip.
