I always book the first few nighys in advance and then go on the prowl for further accomodation. Feb is low season due to the rainy season so you will find it easier to barter for accom in alot of places. I have found Candi Dasa has alot of time share hotels so maybe organise something up there but you certainly can wing it in Lombok - I have and there are plety of options. I hope this helps - have fun
