Both locations are quite different so it may be more a choice of Sanur or Legian.
What are you looking for in your stay, what are you looking for in a location, have you been to Bali before?
I love Puri Raja in legian, beachfront and located close to shopping and restaurants and a much busier place than Sanur. However Puri Raja is not to the standard of Puri Santrian. (I have stayed at Puri Raja but not Puri Santrian)
We love Legian and Sanur, and usually spend some time at both, although if we are only going for a week we usually choose Legian.
It really does depend on what you are looking for in a holliday, Sanur is a great place for relaxing and eating and while there is still a fair bit of shopping its more low key than Legian.
