My son now 28 has been a Type 1 diabetic since age 4 and has been to Bali more than a dozen times and with never a problem. Nowdays insulin, needles, and novopens are easy to get at most larger pharmacies (although fairly expensive compared with at home as there is no PBS scheme in Bali).
* Always take a letter from Dr confirming condition
* Carry insulin in original packaging with prescription labels showing patients name
* Carry insulin in a sml zip up esky pack and a cool pack from the freezer, these are also handy for and sprains etc...so worth taking.
