We found the Two Islands Shiraz, or Cabernet / Merlot pretty good value for money. It was RP195K at Bintang Supermarket in Ubud, and anywhere between 200 & 299 at restaurants.
We tried the Singaraja Hills, but I wouldn't bother, don't go for the Hattens Aga Red (unless your driveway needs cleaning)
The best wine shops we saw, were a small one one Hanoman Road, Ubud. Go left at the fork in the road just past Bebak Bengil, and it is on the left, just before the next left hand bend.
Another good one is about 1/2 - 1 km north of the northern end of Sunset road, on the right hand side.
We didn't mind the Hattens Aga White, or the Alexandria with spicy food.
Once you realize you're not going to get a good Henschke (or Picardy for our WA friends)without parting with a lot of cash, it's not so bad.
