Well back to reality with a THUD, people told me it would happen.. the withdrawals do exist.
We arrived in Bali Saturday 17th September for our first Bali family experience, (myself ,Hubbie and 14 & 16 daughters) with Strategic. The flight was great good movies, great service and food. Got through airport without too much delay just followed the crowds. Found our driver and got stung with the porters grabbing our bags bugger!! the one thing I was NOT going to do, they looked so well dressed and professional I thought they were with our driver oh well whats 10 000 between friends.
Arrived at our private apartment attached to the Jayakarta Resort, we were pleased with the set up and the resort while older had awesome pools and beautiful gardens. Mostly our 2 weeks consisted of swimming, sunbaking, shopping and eating as most do I suppose, not alot of sightseeing, we did visit the Safari Park and rode the elephants and nursed the baby orangutan (Leopard package)was great. We never had a bad meal and never had any bad service, some memorable eats were Seaside, Zanzibar, Rumours, Tekor, Blue Ocean, Mades. We spent a day at Potato Head which was amazing.. dropped a cool million there but worth every cent.
Both the girls were off colour at different times which put abit of a downer on their holiday, a week would have been enough for them while Husband and I didn't want to leave. The tips I picked up on this forum were the best things I took with us, it really helped get a feel for the place without actually having ever been. The only thing I would do different next time would be to take more cash and not bother with the cash passport too many fees.. Already planning for next year maybe take some friends with us and leave the kids at home this time. Thanks to all who helped make our first of hopefully many Bali trips memorable...
