I've let a 14 and 15 year old out on the street by themselves (for an hour or two) in Bali, does it make me a bad parent? Don't think so..they were both very "streetwise" in Bali and I trusted them to do the correct thing. Very difficult for any of us on this forum to comment on this boys situation as none of us are aware of the circumstances involved......hopefully there will be a good outcome for him and his family. What a nightmare it must be for him and his parents. So many tourists in Bali have the opinion that "anything goes" and it can (and does) get them into so much trouble. Where else in the world can anyone go into a Circle K, buy an alcoholic drink and walk around the streets with it? On our last trip to Bali, two younger male friends (in their 20's) were offered a variety of substances while walking down the street with us, my advice was to just ignore the seller, don't even touch what he is selling and keep walking.....
Here's hoping all will turn out ok, and if anyone wants to post a negative comment regarding my boys being on the street by themselves please don't bother.

Thanks.
