Hi,
I'm in Indonesia, mainly in Bali, for 62 days next March - May.I can't get a 60 day " Tourist Visa" because the consulate needs to see ingoing and outgoing flight ticket dates. For reasons I won't bore you with, flight dates can't be changed.
For longer than 60 days, tourists can get a "socio-cultural" visa, but you need sponsors, who need to be in the area in which you are staying. As I am travelling around for part of the trip, that may be difficult.
My thought (at present) is to get a VOA, get it extended for another 30 days ( I know this can be done) and overstay by 2 days and pay the 200,000rp per day fine.
So, my question is....Has anyone had experience in obtaining the 30 day extension? I understand you can pay an agent in Kuta to do the organisation and save 3 trips to the immigration office near the airport.
Any thoughts, experiences, cautions in this area would be greatly appreciated.
Has anyone had experience overstaying the VOA and paying the fine?
Thank you.
