There are lots of new roads on Lombok and it makes the journey quite comfortable. There are some hairpin bends on the mountain road if you go through Pusak Pass to Bangsal, on this route you go through the jungle and see lots of monkeys but if you go through the new improved coastal road, which also has some hairpin bends there are some stunning view points. I would say journey time from the new airport to Bangsal would be 2 hours. We usually allow 2.5/3 hours from Kuta. Some drivers will of course do it faster.
