lends itself to a leisurely stroll along the beach front road (Jl. Pantai Kuta) and there are many nice outdoor lounge type places along this stretch.
Just take your choice of these and see how you go.
Over the road are the beach "bars" at much lower prices, open till sunset and well worth a try.
No food vendors on the beach now except in designated areas further south.
G.I.R. is a decent 3 starish place and was fine when we stayed (some time ago) with a fair smattering of Asian rather than European guests.
We quite liked it.
