as far as the accommodation goes.
There are some "villa" style places around the back of waterbom (Kuta Royal etc), but probably harder to get to/from than where you were before.
That type of accommodation in a location where you walk straight into the action will be hard to find indeed.
There are many new and yet unfinished developments along Jl. Kartika Plaza so who knows, perhaps in the future there will be accommodation offering similar facility......but I doubt it.
Maybe something further north??
