We always stay for a week in Candidasa. Kubu restaurant would be my pick of where to eat, never very busy but the food (esp mie and nasi goreng) is second to none. If you like snorkelling take a local boat out to the islands. Don't go to Blue Lagoon for snorkelling - last time I was there it was filthy. Also visit the White Sandy Beach (get there by boat or taxi). Only a few k's east of Candidasa and is lovely for swimming. Take a walk up to the German Bakery for a great a la Carte brekky. We love it in Candi - next year we will stay longer as we have been to most other places on the island and this suits us best.
