I have an ANZ VISA Travel Card (USD Type)that I put a bit of USD on when the AUD was at around $1.08 just in case the AUD completely caved in before we went to Bali (1 Oct). Well, it has gone down a bit. But, I would be very interested to hear from anyone over there now or recently returned, when I draw money from a Visa enabled ATM over there, what sort of exchange rate do you get from the ATM. Is it reasonable? Does it compare to say the Kodak shop? Or, is it like the banks in Australia, the actual rate paid is nothing near the rate that I could get for a USD at one of the money changers in Bali.
If I had an idea, I would be better placed to decide whether to just take Aus Dollars and exhange them the usual way, or if the rate is good, use the USD stored on the travel card.
Any advice welcomed.
