It's different courses for different horses.

There's a lot of forumites from the 'other side' that affectionately refer to Sanur as S'nore, and for those of us that go to Sanur every time, that's just fine with us.

Sanur moves at a different pace. It's a bit more laid back, as a holiday should be.

It's not a rowdy, pushy, traffic snarl. It doesn't heave to the pulse of nightclubs and bars until the wee hours. It's not clogged with hoards of boozed-up bogans hell-bent on causing trouble.

If you're the type that likes all the hype of Kuta/Legian then you'll probably not find much in Sanur that's to your liking.
Can't really say that Sanur is packed with lots of 'must sees' either.

If on the other hand you like to spend your day relaxing by the pool reading a book, having a quiet beachside lunch, browsing in the many shops, boutiques and markets, dining at great restaurants, strolling along the beach promenade, having a few quiet ones in a jolly bar with a small band playing, then maybe you should pop over for a night or two and have a quick look.

Once upon a time, I used to spend all my time over in Kuta way, until I discovered Ubud and Sanur.

Now I can barely stand going over there even for the day.
