Will try to make it short!!!
We have just arrived home this morning.
Already looking for flights for april. Hahaha
Took us about 2 hours to get through australian customs(going out of Melbourne) as there were about 5000 ppl going through at the same time (Last Tuesday).
We thought we had left in plenty of time, but..........
We were among the last to board, but everyone was in the same boat as us. Oh Well!
Flight was uneventful otherwise. ( Flew Garuda)
Arrived to the wonderful smell of Bali. Yay. Hadn't booked VIP but was approached by some joker who VIPed us for 150,000rp
He was great.
Stayed at Villa Lumbung in Pettitinget. Stayed in room 8a delux bungalow.
Room was great. A/C was the best we have had in Bali ever... Pool was great and met lots of ppl by the pool.
Exchange rate was around 8800 to 9050/ AUD.
Shopped at Centro on first arvo but couldnt wait to get back to my first Bintang..
(don't know what it is , But it tastes soooo much better in Bali.
Then off to Chandi for dinner and cocktails.
I know its not cheap but the food there is out of this world. Cocktails are inventive and are worth every rp.
Over the next few days we had a couple of massages at Cool and at bodyworks. (Bodyworks as good as ever but getting a bit expensive).
Can highly recommend Anita at Cool.
Met our driver Wayan ( I know they are all Wayan... Hahaha)
He took us to bali Mall galleria and generally everywhere. Would not take any more tha 350,000rp and he followed us from 8am till 8pm. could not believe it. I tried to give him a tip, but he wouldnt accept it.
Went to potato head one night. Well worth a visit if you are feeling rich!!!! Food, cocktails and atmosphere. Really is like being in prahran or docklands. But don't let that put you off. Even if it isn't typical Bali, it is worth a look.
So many things to report. Thanks for all the info from you guys.
Hope to put another post later.
