Just returned last Friday from 18 nights in sunny Bali. My husband (for 10 nights), a girlfriend, my 27 year old daughter (for 8 nights) and myself. We had 12 nights at Puri Raja in Legian. Love this place but a lot of regulars that were there were looking around for new place next time as is supposedly going up to about $120 per night next year.
Did a few different things this time and the old sama sama things. Had a great massage at a place near Loji supermarket. Booked the day before and arrived where a boy greeted me and took me in and washed my feet and legs. He then showed me to the massage section and gave me paper pants to put on once I have undressed.Well here I was laying on my stomach in all my glory with the postage stamp paper pants on waiting for the girl to commence massage and who behind the curtain says "ready ma'am" well Made of course the foot washing boy!!!!
Only could happen in Bali, I'm sure in Aust they would ask if a male masseur was ok. Best massage I have ever had (even without happy ending) not usual Bali rubbing but more like a physio massage he really got into your muscles. Husband also had a hard massage (I am a big girl and could only stand soft to medium) with him and thought it was great.
We went to brunch at the St Regis hotel in Nusa Dua on Sunday and it was absolutely divine. Costs about $50 a head but well worth it for something different and the hotel is something you can only dream about!!!
Went for sunset drinks to the Rock Bar at the Ayana Hotel in Nusa Dua. Again the hotel was opulent, certainly out of our price range . It was really hot when we arrived with not a breath of wind. Everyone was sitting at their tables with umbrellas pointing towards the sun trying to block out the heat. Even the Indonesian staff were sweating!! Don't know if it always like this but it was really unpleasantly hot until about 30 minutes before sunset. The sunset was certainly spectacular though.
Usual shoe shopping at Galleria Matahari, ketuts fixed price and had some clothes made at Olga tailor in Garlic Lane. Also took cossie over with material and had copy made at Climax swimwear
More to come on Griya Santrian at Sanur
