Hi Maddog,
Not sure of you are asking "tongue-in-cheek" or not. The price of Viagra on Bali is equally as expensive as in Oz. I've tried 5 different Apotek's (Pharmacies)from small private ones to the large Guardian shops. In fact in August, it was AUD$8.00 more expensive on Bali than at home. Suggest you take your script to Chemists Warehouse stores in Oz where you can purchase x12 100mg tables for about AUD$160, ($13.30 per tab). Cut 'em in half and they become 50mg and go twice the distance - well in cost anyway! On Bali, they were almost $16.00 per tab as previously explained.
Stay right away from the ones offered on the street. The packaging looks pretty good - similar to their DVD's! But its what's on the inside that counts! The composition is VERY dodgy to begin with. Secondly - and most importantly the boxes may contain illicit drugs. And are not what they appear to be. The Police use minor Crims (both Male and Female),to peddle amounts of various drugs on the streets - particularly in the high tourist areas, to pass-on / or sell amounts of "prohibited substances" to the unsuspecting. The police are nearby. When the sale is completed, the tourist is nabbed form "being in possession of drugs" etc. Have seen it happen down the bottom end of Jl Legian (near Kuta Square), about 6 weeks ago in broad daylight. The Tourist gets "done" and the minor Crim gets let off their crime.
I know the above happens on a regular basis. How? I have an friend of 7 years who is part of the Police Drug Squad on Bali. He was one of the group who got the "Bali-9".
Don't mean to scare you, but suggest you be aware of the pit-falls of buying stuff on the Street. Hope this helps. Cheers.
