back in Feb for this Nov, no problems at all and have heard they have an excellent reputation. It is quite common practice all over the world and some may even process a 'temporary authorization' for the cost of the cancellation fee to ensure funds are available. If it really concerns you perhaps you could provide a Visa Debit Card or something similar with a small credit amount in the balance, this will satisfy the hotel and also ensure no one can process fraudulent or costly charges should your details fall into the wrong hands, hope this helps, cheers, Kris
