There is an earlier post asking about investing in Bali and the question was raised regarding changes to the law and also maximum lease time allowable.
In looking at leases of different types of place we find that periods in excess of 30 years are being sold everywhere.
Are these lease offerings legal given the much quoted 25 years maximum or can the development companies sell in excess of 25 years somehow.
We have been told by developers and sales agents that it is legal to buy and sell longer periods than 25 years and it seems that the settlement agents are signing off on longer periods, but does anyone know if this is true?
We are still toying with the idea of buying somewhere out of Kuta and Legian but are confused with mixed messages.
