spent a wonderful 12 days in the magical Bali. 4 nights in Legian and the rest in Sanur. Having only ever stayed in Sanur on our previous trips,I must say that Sanur is still the best place in my opinion.
We stayed at The Pearl Hotel, which was wonderful, as is their food. Much has already been written about the wonderful food at The Pearl and we can only say that we agree. If you can it is an experience not to be missed. The traffic was very congested and the project on Jln Legian only made it worse, but it's fun to walk in Bali as there's always something to see. When we needed taxis, we used bluebirds, no hassles at all.
Stayed at Besakih in Sanur. Having not stayed there before, we loved it. Went to Ubud for a day, but other than that, we just relaxed. Dika is a wood carver at Besakih hotel, near the pool. we had a lovely time learning to carve. For 100,000 rp you walk away with a finished project, no matter how long it takes. Dika has great patience and loves to talk. His favorite saying was " more tap-tap, less yak-yak", as everyone found themselves yakking away to each other. Dika speaks very good English, but still wanted to find out more and we wanted to learn more his language, so we all had great fun. It became a daily thing to spend time there and learn about Dika and his family. Dika and his family also rent motor bikes, push bikes and conduct volcano down hill rides and trekking.
Ate at Sea side, Wicked Parrot and the cafe at the entrance to Hardy's, all meals were great. Flew over with Vigin and home with Jet*
both were fine, but both ran out of meals when they got to the back end of the plane. However, if that's all that goes wrong then we're fine. Bring on next year!
