Imodium is fine is you have bought it with you some local things available from local Apotek are the following:
Guanistrep- (is a syrup 2 level spoon supplied, taken 3-4 times a day stops the runs).
Plantacid Forte- ( syrup again, 1 tea spoon before meals, for vomitting).
Lodia- same as Imodium has Loperamide HC1 2mg.in it, 2 tablets every fluid stool, max of 10 tablets per day.
On top of this I always suggest to my visitors drink plenty of fluids every day (even if you think your not sweating you loose fluid from your body and dehydrate) not just Bingtang,Procari Sweat is good when sick to return body minerals back, also remember better safe than sorry Bali Belly can only be stopped by prescribed antibotics as it is a virus (not treated fast can lead to hospitalisation).
Most causes of the same symptoms are
1.dehyration
2.change in diet such as extra spicy food, fruit juices that contain sugar syrup in lots of proportion.
3.Over induljance in Alcohol leading to dehyration.
4.Bad water, including ice but mainly only in small villages most hotels and bars now use drinking quality water to make ice.( if in doubt ask for Ess Minum (drinking ice).
hope this helps.
