Maddog what we usually do is split it - half for me half for hubby! We always carry it in our hand luggage and keep it with us all the time and never take our eyes off it! When I say hand luggage I mean like a smaller piece that you can keep with you on the plane and put down near your feet and push it under the seat in front of you just a smidgen!! I take a shoulder bag thing that goes over my body and keep things like money and passports and tickets only in there. I would worry about it being in my suitcase in case it went missing!! Have a great trip.
