that if you go for big pools (and I do) then you'd best stay in a resort with one.

NUSA DUA - All the hotels in Nusa Dua proper have big to huge pools, and many in Tanjung Benoa also. I really love the beach further down it gets towards Geger i.e - if you look at Google Earth anywhere from Grand Hyatt ----> south. The hotels I recommending the area are the Sheraton Laguna, the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel; cheaper and nice also is the Melia Bali more of a lower 4 star imho.

TANJUNG BENOA -If you want something reasonable with two medium but stunningly designed pool areas and gardens to die for, then try Novotel Benoa.( We try to keep that hotel a secret!!)

SANUR - I love the Bali Hyatt myself and keep on going back there. Roo,s can be a bit tired, but the beach, grounds and ambience make up for that.

Both Sanur and Nusa Dua have very long beach pathways so you can stretch out on a morning walk. Nusa Dua is very quiet and you won't be hassled at all by hawkers. In saying that you can always find someone on the beach to give you a sandy, cheapo massage and a tee-shirt. Sanur is much more lively and busy. You don't need to go far to get a meal, but in Nusa Dua (depending on where you stay) you'll need to walk a ways or take a cab.

I prefer Nusa Dua for out and out complete R&R, but love Sanur too.
