They are very close , so we went to both, though I must say the last time we went Echo beach was a real let down. The restaurants platform area was collapsing and under repairs and behind the restaurant is a ugly massive resort under construction. Very disappointing, it use to be a really lovely spot to see, but due to the tourism industry in full swing over in there, Bali is losing its lovely natural beauty. If you are after a nice place to watch a sunset just stay at Tanah Lot, plenty of nice restaurants and a gorgeous view.
