last 2 times we have actually flown to perth cos we have family there and stayed a few days then flown to Bali very cheap, that is also booking 10mths in advance. We fly home via Darwin last time, Air asia from Bali then 4hr stopover I think it was (we all slept upstairs spread out on chairs) and then to Melb with Jetstar, long day but when I said to my hubbie last night I can get Jetstar direct for July 2012 now, nearly $500 each one way or we wait for Air Asia he said WAIT, doens't kill us the few hours. This time we are flying both ways via Darwin, we will leave Melb about 11pm at night, get to Darwin & have 2hrs maybe before flying to Darwin so that leg isn't too bad, its just waiting for the Air Asia flights that is annoying! If you are quick you can get some great prices, some were $46 one way last year but maybe won't be so lucky this year.
