If you are about to stay at The Point on Lembongon island, you are in for an amazing treat. My partner and i stayed there when they first opened at the start of the year - The manager (Komang) is a local guy who is just incedible * we now call him a friend. We first met Komang when we stayed at villa Shambala about 3 years ago, as he was the manager of that. Here's a story about our mate Komang. During our first stay at villa shambala he did evrything for us, arranged and came with us for a day of snorkelling, organised scooters that magically appeared within ten minutes (and the villa is quite isolated), did shopping for us. He made it quite clear at the beginning of our stay that he would not accept any tip whatsoever and that his reward was looking after us and making our trip to the island unforgettable.
As we were packing to leave, my partner could not find her $400 sunglasses she had bought 4 days ago in Bali. She was beside herself but no matter how hard we looked, they were nowhere to be found. Komang came to take us to the boat to leave - when we told him, he was very concerened for us and worried that we thought somebody had stolen them - we assured him we didn't think that. I told him that if he finds them, could he contact us in Bali (we still had 4 days left) and that i would come back over and get them (cheaper than buying another pair ! ) I gave him the details of our accom but we had convinced ourselves they were gone.
Two days later after a full days shopping, lunch , massages, shopping, dinnner and more shopping, we returned to our villa in Seminyak at about 9pm - to find Komang waiting at reception (he had been waiting for us all day) - and with the biggest smile on his face he produced the lost sunnies from his pocket ( they had fallen off the bench down the side of the gas hotplate ! ). He had gotten the boat over that morning and was planning to get a friends boat back the next morning - he still refused to take a tip until I stuffed it in his hand and would not let him give it back. Just an amazing man !
And now to the villa - WOW ! will let you just explore and experience it yourself. Say hello to Komang for us (Matt and Krystal).
