Have been visiting Amed regularly for almost four years and always stay at Double One Villas. Rooms one and two are right on the waters edge with just the pool and spa separating you from the beach (black volcanic pebbles) Around $50 per night per room incl basic breakfast. Air con/mini bar
Restuarant on the beach near your room or one upstairs with fantastic views.
Place is very quiet with almost no shops but surrounding areas are very beautiful. Do go to Tirtta Ganga for lunch
Many, many wonderful Warungs and places to eat.... from sophisticated to simple. Enjoy the amazing view from the clifftops at Sails or lunch at Cafe Garam and watch the salt making which commences in October to February. A car can pick you up and take you to the departure point in Amed for a day trip to Lembongan

I am about to have two weeks there end of September.
Word of warning ...the steps down to the beach and cottages are very steep. I have learnt not to go up them more than once a day.
