Blue Moon has spectacular views but is not directly on the beach, very steep stairs if that is an issue (either with older or very young travellers). Access to the beach is quite difficult too, down very steep stairs with no handrail. I preferred Blue Moon for it's views, my hubby preferred Puri Wirata for the beach access.
Puri Wirata is right on the beach and has various options for accommodation depending on your budget. The restaurant food is not fantastic but there are other local places to eat. There is a nice spa with ocean views which whilst not "cheap cheap" is still very reasonably priced IMO considering the location.
You can snorkel or scuba dive, relax by the pool, go on a fishing trip on a traditional jukung or enjoy a massage.
I've convinced myself - I want to go back to Amed LOL
