Amed area is very rural and offers beautiful coves perfect for snorkeling right from the beach(some hotels have stoney beaches, others gray/black sand). Not alot to do otherwise.
The trip from Candi Dasa to Amed through Amplapura is beautiful. Ricefields, palm covered hills with Mt Agung in the background.
