My partner and Ihave done exactly what you are planning. A week in the hustle nd bustle with lots of shopping followed by some nice relaxing time. Also highly recommend Lembongan island - scoot cruises leave from sanur (will pick you up from yur hotel in Legian) at about $50 return p.p. - we stayed at a stand alone villa that was peaceful in the extreme - check out villa Shambala - hire scooters and explore the island - very few cars on the island so easy to get around.
