We just returned from our trip to bali first time taking our little one along and here is my tips

Direct flight would be the best . I found we managed to get our daughter settled within an hour or so and getting her on and off a plane again would have disrupted her all over again. We were lucky that they guy checking us in made sure we had all six seats accross the row we were in as we had five adults travelling so he blocked the remaining seat for us cause the flight wasnt full and DD could lay on the seat and sleep or sit stapped in.

Take a portable DVD player if you have it. This was a saving grace for us as it kept her distracted for some of the time which really helped on the 7 hour flight.

I brought majority of our normal snacks with me cause these are things she is familar with and would help her adjust well. Go to carrefour on your first day there and stock up on any perishables you cant bring with you it is awsome store.

We went to the zoo and you could hire stollers there however I only saw two so if you get there on a busy time you may miss out. I recommend taking your own but only a stroller as its hard to get them into the bus.

I have no experience with Nusa Dua because with a bub we didnt want to be loading her in and out of taxis to get to and from kuta to eat and so on so we stayed at the discovery kartika and I couldnt fault it one bit.

We used Bali Baby hire for the pram which in hind sight I would have taken my own stroller and will do so next time as their pram was a little bulky for the narrow sidewalks and Virgin carry poratcots/stollers ETC for free.

So good luck and have fun and make sure you take a mosquito net for your pram as I found it served well when your child is tired or sick of the attention to keep people out of being right in their face as the balinese love kids but sometimes the kiddies can get a bit fed up with all the attention.
