I got a better price at the Padma in Legian booking directly with the hotel - it was I think 6 months ahead and not in school holidays time so they had some specials on.
It's been ages since I went to a travel agent for Bali holidays - while they used to have access to specials, these days with the public airfares are so cheap, I don't think they can offer the same and stay in business. I haven't booked with an agent for years because I'm able to do my homework and research prices and hotel reviews. They're handy if you don't have the time to do that yourself though.
