Did you pre arrange your excess luggage with Strategic and get a reference number for it.
They give me 23ks (normal) and 10kgs plus. Am about to travel with four others so we are all pre authorised and can take 50kgs extra plus our 23kg allowance.
Have learnt not to put more than 7kgs in the hand luggage. Strict on that.
Unfortunately, the check in staff are from a hire company (Menzies) and are not Strategic staff.. Thats why a reference is necessary.
So sorrty that was such a poor start to your hols. Glad all e;se went well particularly with your Mum.
