we stayed out there last October and loved Echo beach. It has a very relaxed vibe and is a great place to have a drink and watch the sun go down. If the Beach House (and the loud band) is not your thing, have a sunset drink at any of the restaurants along the front and then head a few metres down the road to La Sal Del Mar for dinner (no ocean views but it doesn't matter when it's dark!). Having tried all the places there at least once or twice each, the best food by far is at La Sal (yummy tapas & the BEST pizzas) and Sate Bali (for delicous Indonesian). Food at the Beach House is average at best IMO.
