Eating in Sanur is a delight - of a day any of the places along the beach are fabulous - I love eating outdoors with my feet on the sand watching the sea and the planes flying overhead. Of a night time I like the main street - Charming is a little more expensive but the prices include the ++15% taxes and the food and service really is a cut above most other places. There are lots of women offering massages on the beach but 50,000Rupiah will also buy you a massage in one of the salons. Hardys supermarket is also a must - stock up on all the essentials as well as checking out the things for sale upstairs. This trip we bought some lovely wood framed prints for less than $10 and their prices are also a good guide to bargaining elsewhere.
On the main streets there are excellent fashion shops and places to buy homewares etc. my favourite dress shop is Ibisa but it is not cheap - the clothes however are made from exquisite Italian voile and linen and would be 3 times the price back home. Hope this helps.
