We stayed at the Puri Oka but unfortunately I wouldn't recommend it. We paid only $65US for a deluxe room but the hotel has now raised this to $95 and it definitely not worth the 50% increase. The location is fabulous - not directly on the main street and so not as noisy as the more central places but the rooms are very tired and not what you would expect from so called deluxe - the towels are a little thin, no tea or coffee making facilities in the room , no phone to order service or make enquiries, mismatched furniture etc. At $65 you can live with it but the hotel's management badly needs to lift its game. The owner (an Aussie woman) and manager Yogi are great but the rest of the staff are very lackadaisical -for example the hot water in our friends room was not turned on (something they didn't discover until the next morning when they had a cold shower) and there was no drinking water, our bar fridge hadn't been brought up. These would be understandable if the hotel was busy but there was only one extra family staying at the hotel! It's a shame really as the hotel has so many things going for it .
