It's a great day trip and you can do island excursions from the beach club that they take you to. it's a little more expensive then some of the other ones but i think it's worth it. Take a small bag with some spare clothes incase you decide to stay overnight, as it's beautiful over there and they give good last minute discounts if you decide to stay and you can get the boat back the next day.
We have also done rocky boat from sanur which is a quick way of getting there and you can organise a scooter when you get to the island.
If you go with Bali Hai sit on the mid deck outside on the way home and enjoy a few cocktails and listen to the band! My favourite part :)
