depends what you call shopping? and where? If Denpasar very difficult to cross the roads so if you are going to a few shops then hire driver half day. If you are going to maybe Kuta in a taxi from Sanur you will pay around Rp100,000 each way (depending on traffic) so much less hassle to have a driver, especially my great driver Nyoman who is so considerate and helpful, trustworthy and reliable.
