Jetstar, PacificBlue & Garuda all fly direct from Melb. I am on the email list for jet* & pb so if any specials come up I am on it, although having said that it has been a while since I've seen any decent prices. Also on Friday afternoons jet* have random special fares if you check their website after 4pm. If you are flexible on dates & patient there is usually a deal to be done... I went in March this year for $550 return Inc luggage, was pretty happy with that. :-)
