Many hotels, such as the ones I recommended below, don't want pre-payment. If your booking is accepted you should confirm it a week before arriving. Some places want full payment on arrival (not wise as you might not like the place - say you have to change $ & pay for a night or 2 until you decide if you want to stay). Others want only one nights payment on arrival & you pay in full on departure.
If you book then are unable to go then it's easy to send an email cancelling your booking. So, DO book ASAP.
