Much dearer than a taxi but the cost balances as taxis get caught in the vile traffic & ojek ojek can weave through & get you where you want to go much faster. Worth the extra I think.
I love taking motorcycle taxis - they go down gangs I never knew existed, happy to stop wherever I want. Also happy to go via their favourite warungs. A lot of fun.
Pretty hard to put a price on what you want to do. Just ask around before so you get an idea of the price. I reckon for 2 hours you'd be looking at around Rp100K minimum.
In June I was wanting to use proper ojek ojek & they were pretty hard to find. So I just asked guys on bikes to take me where I wanted to go if the traffic was heavy. Bit of a pain sorting out the cost but there are so many guys just hanging around on bikes that walking on to the next guy was easy.
Just be sure to tell your rider to be very careful & turn off his mobile.
