Prices have gone up this year I have noticed. Last year we stayed at Kuta Lagoon Resort in a pool access room which was great. Excellent location, walking distance to everything. This year have booked the Puri Raja, on the beach at Legian. Excellent reviews going October and paid $120 per night. Have also stayed at Alam Kul Kul a little more expensive but enjoyable. It is overlooking the beach located near the Pullman resort, it also has Papa's cafe attached to it where we go each year. We are three shopaholics aged 57, 47 and 44. We also prefer the more Bali type accommodation than the huge resorts. Another I was looking at was the Lokha in Legian, that seemed to have good reviews. Anyway happy hunting.
