Stayed at the mecure a year or so ago. Liked it a lot. Staff were very friendly, nice sized cool rooms and pools were fine. ALso liked the location - turn right at the beach and some cheap and cheerful warungs right next door (we liked the Cemara Beach bar and restaurant the best). Turn left and walk a bit and you get to some more upmarket places which were still reasonable value.
Didn't go there but the 'Bad Pox Beach Club' always brought a smile! (unfortunate mis-spelling of 'Bad Boy')
Heading back to Sanur again in 4 weeks (can't wait). This time staying in a Villa as travelling with my mum but would stay at the Mecure again.
Don't know anything about the other place you mention.
