Over the last two years I have booked 10 holiday destinations through Booking Com. and never had a problem.
They are a world wide booking agency, instant confirmation, have a very good cancellation policy and you do not have to pay upfront.
Just take the booking receipt with you and pay when you arrive or leave your hotel.
Agoda is also very good but you do have to pay upfront.
Their taxes should be listed and included in the total price.
