I have bought many books throughout Indonesia and at good prices (Normally historic Indonesian)
If you look about you can find little gems.
For instance, have a look at the second hand book store close to Bemo Cnr.
Travelling south on Jl. Legian, turn left at Bemo Cnr. (Away from the beach direction) and there is a place about 40 meters along on the LHS.
I have had some luck there.
At the proper shops (Gramedia etc) you will find relatively cheap books on special, but normal books close to Aussie pricing I find.
There are many second hand book shops around the lanes that are worth scouring through as well.
