I have been to both the zoo by day, and this year did the zoo by night, the package included dinner also. We booked with MBA whilst in Kuta. I have also been to the Safari Park which is my personal preference. The zoo by night is a different experience, and they bring out animals for photos and have some dancers, however the baby tiger does not appear at night. It was good to experience this, as you say we wanted to do something different also, however I felt I enjoyed time at the zoo during the day more. Hope this helps.
