Hi. Stayed at Besakih in April for first time. They were doing extensive renovations, lots of noise from them and next door, buzz saws the whole time. Was offered an upstairs/downstairs bungalow at first next, to the reno area and was relocated to a room in the hotel wing with a balcony. After a while got used to the noise, and besides didnt spend too much time in the room anyway.
Note: at that stage they only had normal analogue TV in room (about 12 inch) and there was the ABC Asia network and BBC world. The rooms are nice and roomy, staff great. The pool and restaurant area at the beach end are great and there is so many restaurants on the beach and the street you will not want for anything.
Out the front of the hotel directly opposite the gate is a mini mart with a massage place attached at the back , fanastic foot and back massages for about $5 AUD. If you like pizzas and Italian down the road to the left, on the left is an Italian resto, cant rememer the name but it sticks out, try the Volcano pizza.
One thing we loved about this place was the people, after 5 or 6 trips staying at 4 and 5 star places in Sanur, we found the other guests lovely talkative friendly and no pool lounge hogs. Dont expect 5 star because is isnt, it is a lovely place to stay, if you go, enjoy.
cheers
Ernie
