the r4 is the "chip" and it stores all your games on a micro sd inside it which you can take out and plug it into your computer and add or remove games that you can either download or buy on discs over in bali....works straight away
the good thing is when you get sick of a game you can take it off and put new ones on.....depending on the memory size depends on how many games you can store on the one micro sd
you can buy micro sd cards in aus and you only need on r4
