I have stayed in both of the rooms you described.
The first time was the cheaper room which had a nice patio overlooking a garden. Rooms clean and basic, and still good value for money.
A few weeks ago we stayed in the $55 rooms - amazing!! Lovely bright room and a massive bathroom fit for a princess. Also a few steps from the pool. But without a doubt, the best thing was the large patio with the amazing views over the ricefields.
Depending on your budget, I would go the $55 option as there was a big difference in quality and I can picture it being very pleasant sitting on the patio by yourself reading a book with those lovely views in the background...
