I have never particularly liked flying but had a near death experience on an Air India flight a few years ago, won't scare you with the details but suffice to say I am now terrified of flying but I love travelling more than I hate flying!!!! There are a couple of websites that have some good information, they put in perspective how you are more likely to die in a car crash on the way to the airport than you are to die in a plane crash. One says that even on the dodgiest airlines in the world your chance of being involved in a crash are still remote, you have more chance of winning the lotto apparently! I know this still does not help someone overcome that fear but as I said it does help put it in perspective. I also got some Valium from my doc but was too scared to take it in case there was a crash and I was too out of it to get out of the plane....how crazy is that lol
